Chronological history of criminal (read political) achievements
- 1986: Shekhar Tiwari’s crime history started from 1986 when a case of attempted murder was lodged against him (case crime number 148(A)/86) at Dibiyapur police station of Auraiya. Case Dumped with a Final Report (FR).
- 1987: A year later in 1987, another case of assault and rioting was lodged against him in connection with a clash on the new year’s eve (CC No: 01/87). Case Dumped with a Final Report (FR).
- 1996: Criminal case (CC No: 103/96) for assault, threatening, rioting and causing damage to property. Police failed to find any evidence to establish that the incidents had taken, and attached an FIR.
- 1999: Criminal case (CC No: 419/99) for assault, threatening, rioting and causing damage to property. Police failed to find any evidence to establish that the incidents had taken, and attached an FIR.
- 2000: Criminal case (CC No: 62/2000) for assault, threatening, rioting and causing damage to property. A chargesheet was filed but the case is still awaiting final judgement.
- 2001: Five criminal cases (177/01, 180/01, 292/01, 280/01 & 330/01) were lodged against him between April and December 31 – all of them at the Dibiyapur police station. Apart from two of these five cases in which he was acquitted, the remaining were closed with an FR by the police.
- 2002: A case under the provisions of the National Security Act (NSA) was also slapped on him in 2002 (against crime number 77/02) but it was subsequently cancelled. Another case of Gangster’s Act has been pending against the MLA since 2001.
Influence (Clout) earned
- His clout with law managers (police etc)
- Shekhar was provided with two police gunners till he was eventually arrested on December 25.
- His police gunners, who were reportedly absconding since the murder of PWD executive engineer Manoj Kumar Gupta, were arrested by the Auraiya police on Monday.
- Shekhar Tiwari had sought enhancement of his personal security on grounds of increasing threat perception to his life. Before the final approval, home secretary (Police Anubhag—2) sent a letter to the state intelligence department (vide number 167/08 dated May 5, 2008) seeking comments on a 20-point questionnaire to decide the level of threat and advise the range of enhancement of Shekhar’s security, if at all.
- Sources said that the process was in its final stages of approval when Shekhar landed in the murder case and was arrested.
